Can I take my CBD on a flight?DOMESTIC FLIGHTS According to the TSA Marijuana and certain cannabis infused products, including some Cannabidiol (CBD) oil, remain illegal under federal law except products that contain no more than 0.3% THC on a dry weight bases or that are approved by the FDA. While federal law allows hemp-derived CBD, some states have stricter laws. Idaho, Nebraska, and South Dakota have more restrictive CBD laws, so flying into or out of those states could pose some issues. Keep CBD products in their original packaging to show compliance with the THC limit if questioned. INTERNATIONAL FLIGHTS International laws vary widely, and the legality of CBD can change from country to country or even withing countries for layovers. Always check the CBD laws of your destination and any country with layovers. Even if you are legally compliant there's a risk of misinformed TSA agents or customs officials causing delays or confiscation. For international travel, the safest option might be to avoid bringing CBD or to purchase it legally at your destination.

Will CBD get me high? No! CBD is derived from the hemp plant and does not contain the psychoactive effects of THC. Consuming or using CBD alone will not cause the “high” associated with THC. Some users might feel a relaxation or calming effect from CBD, but this is different from the psychoactive high of THC. These effects are more about bringing the body back to a state of balance or homeostasis rather than inducing euphoria or altered perception. Always check product labels and certifications to ensure what you're getting is indeed CBD with 0.3% or less amounts of THC.

Are there any drug interactions?Yes. CBD inhibits the cytochrome P450 enzyme, which is involved in metabolizing many drugs. By inhibiting cytochrome P450, CBD can either reduce or increase the effects of other drugs. It may be advisable for a physician to monitor a patient’s blood levels of other medications while taking CBD. Always seek the advice of a physician while taking other medications.
